What is FRC?

First Robotics Competition is a high-paced robotics competition where students have to design, program and build an industrial sized robot to participate in a themed field game in six weeks under strict rules, time and resources. People from all backgrounds, experiences and interests, both technical and non-technical, and invited and encouraged to join.

Timeline

• May - December: Off-season, focusing on recruitment, training, and fundraising for the upcoming season and participating in off-season competitions
• Early January: Season kickoff, where the game is released and we find out what we need to build and program the robot to do
• January - March: Build season
• March-April: Competition season
• Mid-april: Champonships

• 🛠️ Mechanics: Assembling the robot
• ⚡ Electronics: Creating and managing the electrical systems
• 💻 Programming: Programming logic between the operator’s controls and robot sensors and motors
• 🎨 Design: Designing the robot with CAD tools
• 👔 Business & Outreach: Organizing fundraisers and budgets, managing the team
• 🎥 Media: Photography and videography of events and build season, managing social media
• 📑 Strategy: Creates game plans and collects alliance data from other teams
